The Flavors of Our Ingredients

Jalapeno

Jalapenos have a reputation for being very hot but actually only rank in the medium to hot range among peppers (explore the official Scoville Pepper Scale here). Each pepper gets its spiciness from their inner linings and seeds; by removing these, the heat of the jalapeno can be decreased. Quality jalapenos are firm, dark-green in color, and have smooth skin. They are a good source of fiber and vitamins A and C. We use jalapeno peppers everyday in many items, including our Pico de Gallo salsa, hand-smashed guacamole and warm 3-Cheese Queso sauce.
